I’m Trever Broadhead, founder and principal of Firm Foundations. I help organizations understand what is limiting their performance, clarify what needs to change, and build practical solutions that leaders and teams can actually implement.

For more than 20 years, I have led nonprofit, community-service, housing, disability-service, and mission-driven organizations in roles that have included Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer, and senior operational leadership. I have worked directly with boards, led multi-site teams, managed significant budgets and facilities, navigated complex people and workplace issues, and guided organizations through growth, transition, restructuring, and operational change.

Those experiences have shaped how I approach consulting. Organizational problems rarely exist in isolation. A governance issue can be a leadership issue. A staffing problem can be rooted in structure or workflow. Growth can expose weaknesses that were manageable when an organization was smaller.

Through Firm Foundations, I use structured diagnostics, evidence, candid conversations, and executive judgement to separate symptoms from root causes and focus attention where it will create the greatest impact. When deeper technical expertise is required, I help assemble the right specialists around the work rather than forcing every problem into a single consulting discipline.

My goal is to give leaders and boards greater clarity, stronger systems, and a practical path forward so their organizations can perform at their full potential.

I’m Amanda Broadhead, a facilitator with Firm Foundations who helps nonprofit boards strengthen their governance and build productive partnerships with their executive directors.

For more than 20 years, I have trained individuals, led teams, and helped people develop the knowledge and confidence needed to perform at their best. I have also served on boards in different roles and have experienced both effective boards and those that struggled. These experiences have given me a practical understanding of how unclear responsibilities, poor communication, competing priorities, and difficult board dynamics can affect an entire organization.

I believe better boards make a bigger impact. Nonprofit causes, and the staff, volunteers, donors, clients, and communities behind them, deserve leaders who operate at an elite level.

Through board health assessments, candid conversations, and customized interactive training, I help boards and executive directors identify strengths, address gaps, and turn good intentions into effective governance. My approach is practical, approachable, and grounded in real situations rather than theory alone.

My goal is to help board members and executive leaders understand their distinct responsibilities, communicate honestly, and work as trusted partners so their organizations can move forward with greater confidence, stability, and purpose.
